Oakland Carnival and Wellness Festival 2020, is a community festival hosted by SambaFunk! with the support of the City of Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaff's, District 3 Councilmember Lynette McElhaney, Akonondi Foundation, Zellerbach Family Foundation, Samba Funk and a host of community members. This years festival will take place on Saturday June 1st in historic Mosswood Park in Oakland California. Its a great day of free family fun that attracts a culturally diverse audience.
The Oakland Carnival is Oakland's premier Carnival event featuring live performance on its Global music stage, a Soca and Salsa dance pavilion, international food court, an African marketplace and youth game zones.
Now celebrating its 6th year, Oakland Carnival operates with the mission to present the music, dance, food, culture and wellness as uniting platforms. We strive to be a major catalyst in restoring health to the community with expanded wellness, greater fitness, thriving longevity and abundance.
Oakland Carnival showcases musical and artistic traditions of Carnivals through the world including the Caribbean, South, Central and North Americas. We are proud to present a culturally rich tradition that is highly celebrated throughout the world.
The Oakland Carnival showcases local Bay Area artists along with International cultural artists. Oakland Carnival is committed to presenting local art and cultural expression and local businesses. Oakland Carnival is unique in that it merges communities, nationalities and people of all cultures who share an interest in art, food, wellness and fitness. It is one of the nation’s best free, family-oriented Carnival events in a natural setting of trees, nature and art for the benefit of Oakland and the greater Bay Area Community.
